dis

ORIGINAL: gspfunk

Several things...

<side note: I can't take the credit for getting her going b/c a guy from a local forum came over and helped me out TREMENDOUSLY!!!>

Now that's out of the way, we originally started w/ the fuel pump and made sure it had pressure. It didn't read more than 10 psi at first b/c I haven't had a motor in the car in over a year. Plus, when I changed the fuel filter a day or 2 ago, whatever gas was left in the lines ended up on the driveway. I had put 2.5 gallons in it, but it had to make it's way thru the new filter and all the way up front before we realized the pressure was good.

So then he starts messing w/ the timing...long story shorter, he gets it really close. BTW, I like the Professional Products harmonic balancer, it's a really nice piece, but be sure to figure out which of the 3 sets of timing marks are for your year and black out the rest....

Once the timing was on [or close], I noticed the smog pump was warm after trying to crank it a few times. Seized up POS was fighting against the motor. So, w/ the belt off and some engine starter, it fired right up and he was able to adjust it. Now I need to figure out how to get the **** eatin grin off my face[sm=lildevil.gif]

Thanks to you (5.0MPG), Joel 5.0 and the rest of you that helped me try and figure it out. Let me know if I can ever return the favor.

...great to read the evil grin is back........lack of fuel in the tank and a seizing smog pump preventing engine from turning freely....who would have thought ...ENJOY...you deserve it after all that hard work.

Sorry for the delay. I've been moving and haven't had a chance to fine tune some things yet. Here are the pics I have. I will get more this weekend hopefully and post up some video as well.

Keep in mind, it IS a work in progress....so it's not so pretty YET. I'm working on a black interior at the moment....
