car wont go past 4000rpm
i have been having a problem with my car the past week, i if i am not hard on the throttle it will rev all the way to redline. If the pedal is down once it hits around 3000 it starts to bog and wont even go past 4000rpm. when it is doing this if i put the clutch in i can rev it up to redline no problem without a load on it. someone help it just started happening a week ago. motor is stock except long tube headers and flowmaster exhaust. No egr is hooked up and no polution equipment. i am under the impression it is a fuel issue. it is an 86 coupe converted to 88 fuel injection, changed dash and wiring harnesses. maybe something came loose? somene help please before rice tries to race me and i get bead horribly thanks alot. also the cats are gutted, and it doesnt smell very gassy out the exhaust. Running lean maybe?

the first thing i would do is check for codes its free, very easy, and the best way to diagnose your problem. read this http://www.corral.net/tech/maintenance/eecivtest.html

i have tried to check the codes but the CEL wont do anything. il check the computer for errors at work on monday with the scanning tool. im an apprentice at a shop im gona see what they thing is wrong with it. iv read that pple have had the same problem as me any more ideas? when i took the throttle body off last week i re used the old gaskets tps is maxed out at 4.67 at wot it wont go any higher i took it right off and turned it thats the highest. woud that make a difference bc its supposed to be around 4.85 right?

Check your fuel pressure. I have seen fuel regulators go bad causing the engine to run lean and not allow the engine to run hard under load but rev to red line with no load. I would also suspect the fuel pump as this will also do the same as a bad fuel pressure regulator.

Nope....as long as you have a minimum difference of 2.71vdc between closed throttle output and WOT position....it's fine as far as the EEC-IV logic is concerned.....
•Closed Throttle can be anywhere between 0.6-1.0 volts
•Part Throttle is triggered @ 0.04 volts above Closed Throttle
•Full Throttle is triggered @ 2.71 volts above Closed Throttle
•Part Throttle is triggered @ 0.04 volts above Closed Throttle
•Full Throttle is triggered @ 2.71 volts above Closed Throttle
