Default 4.30's

I got an 85 gt that I am got to only be racing with,I would like to put more gear out back, currently i am running 3.73. with a 5 speed would 4.30s be good?

you plan on driving on the street? I think 4.10 might be better.

4.30's are perfect, 4.56 would be too high depending on your power out put (stroker, big cubes, Big turbo), it could cause you to have to be in 5th, but then just run a taller tire 28" with 4.30's or like a 29" for 4.56s, im going to run 4.30's on my next project stang, its a daily driver, so for a track trailer queen id run 4.56s but other than that 4.30's are awsome...4.56 even better, Ive had 4.10s on the street and they were awsome, but i wish i went 4.30, and rember thats was a daily driver 5 speed

well right now I have a cobra intake holley 600,very mild cam.and thats it.but I'm selling some stuff here soon so I will have 800 bucks to spend, I'm getting a victor jr intake,gt 40 head that are going to be ported to the max,and not sure what cam yet a local race engine builder has one for me and it a 612 valve lift its a real radical cam.and a holley double pumper on the way not sure what size yet.
