Went to track last night!-See video 5.0 HP
I went to 1/4 mile track here in Cedar Falls, Iowa where one of the pinks episodes was done at. I have a 95 Gt Vert (one of heaviest stangs ever made), on top of that, its an AUTO!! YEAH!! Anyway, what I was wondering is what would a bone stock auto 95 Gt vert run on the 1/4 mile????? I have put in a transgo shift kit, 3.73 gears and CAI. Thats it. First run had a bad reaction time (.975) and left her in drive w/ OD off, ran 15.782 @ 88.90 mph- smoked a mid 80's camaro- my guess is he wasnt running right, or they are just that slow! First time running on track so, not too bad, right?
2nd time down, got a great reaction time (.360) ran 15.603 @ 89.74 and manually shifted it w/ OD off. I was happy because I did better- never racing on a track before.- it was against my buddies 83 (i think) which has some mods-gutted interior, roll bar etc. here is the link (first time trying this so sorry if it doesnt work) http://media.putfile.com/Mustang-vs-Mustang-77 So, my question is, does doing the gears and shift kit help all that much? What does a stock 95 Gt Vert run? I do plan on a super charger during winter months, but for now-im going to stick with this setup. Its just that freakin' fun! Thanks

that what they run in the 15's. a manual coupe for 95' will run about 14.8-15.2, you have the heaviest (convert), and a auto which suck, so your about right, the thing your missing is a stall, that will help bring you down like 3-4 tenths.Oh and reation time dosent mean anything, time doent start till you pass the beams, the reaction just show how fast you get off the light, has nothing to due with et's. and yes third gen camaros suck they run 16's with those 305 tbi, which is sad for a v-8 considering, that a newer v-6 camaro will run a high 15 stock. oh i just saw your runs, they dont help either for racing, but do look good lol

I don't know exactly what my 87 GT with aod weighed but it was nearly bone stock other than flowmasters, headers, and a chip and ran 14.9s with 2.73 gears and no shift kit. So that seems kinda slow to me, but i do know the sn95s were really heavy.

okay, Im new at the track scene, I didnt know if reaction time was a big deal or not.. i thought time started right when the light turned green... yeah, i got hosed by that fugly fox! Im not upset, I went mainly for looks when I purchased it and spent the money on exterior. But now its time for motor so we'll see if i can better the times. I know it seems low, im not a racer by any means, but just wondering what a 95 stock vert would run and that way i can see how "slow" I really am. damn this stuff is fun though. My stang is all bark no bite

yeah, the mudflaps are gay. I originally put them on because I lived on a dusty road and I wanted to protect my paint. Then it came to making them easy on, easy off for track. Well, of course i got lazy and now I just leave them on. Im glad I left them on for the track though, i would still be cleaning rubber off the sides if it werent for them! But yes, I dont like the looks of them either. Hey, at least they are custom, with a running pony on them and everything.. okay, there coming off!
