oops...wrongg button, now for the rest of that message...I bought and 8.8 rear end off a guy, hever thought to ask what it was out of. It has the quad shock mounts on it, and bolted right in. I noticed that the wheels stuck out a little more, not past the fenders, actually it looks nice and has a little wider stance. The problem is I can't figure out what drums to use, because the ones the parts store gave me are maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch to narrow, and do not cover the shoes. What might I try...94 0r 95 breaks, or what? Thanks

I read somewhere that the 94 and up Stang did have a wider rear end. Got any friends with a newer car you can borrow the brake drums from to see if they fit?

just take one of the brake shoes with you to match up to a drum with the right width and bolt hole pattern, then you'll know you got the right size drums the first time out. btw, measure the diameter of the brakes from outside pad to outside pad with them installed on the rear so you know the approximate diameter of the drum too.

Sounds like a perfect time to convert to rear discs!

If its about 1/2 inch on each side or so im willing to bet its an 8.8 from an old T-BIRd.

Some of the TC's had 8.8's and all the V8's had them.

Read me off the axle tag and ill let you know what you have.

dont the 94-95 8.8 have 5 lugs & disc brakes??
I think t-bird also did the non turbos have the 8.8? I know the later turbos had discs.
