Default Symtoms of bad fuel pump?

Ok car runs unbelievibly good for about 15-20 minutes after running. then it just runs like crap. i can hear my fuel pump make a lower whine (like its not spinning as fast). could my pump be going?

That's a possibility....it has 40% of the signs of a bad pump...... to get the other 60%, you need to check pressure over time.

FWIW...I've dealt with FP suspected problems that have required a pressure monitoring test of .5-4 hours...Mustangs, Fords, gm's, mopar's and ricers...some passed the test and the problem was id'ed elsewhere in the system (ignition module, coil(s), exhaust backpressure, pick-up coil, crankshaft position sensor, MAF sensor, VAF sensor, ECM), others failed and the FP had to be replaced.....need to get the data ....or......replace it and hope......next in line would be the MAF and the ECM.

well the cheapest way to go is a gauge that goes right on the shrader valve
thats what i did at first..... than i went w/ an electronic full sweep gauge
that mounts on the A pillar

Check your fuel filter... My car would run great for a few minutes, once the dirt would get clogged in the fuel filter it would run like ****, it's worth a shot...

It has been my experience that fuel pumps go bad and stay bad. I wouldn't think it would get better after it sets a little. Before you waste more cash on this problem, i would bring it in and get it hooked up to the computer. Might be somthing simple you have over looked

i replaced the filter about a month ago.... i noticed my problem comes up more when it is hot out. ill let it sit overnight, then it will run like a raped ape for 20 minutes, then it starts stuttering, and it gets so bad i eventually cant even drive anymore. it feel like its bucking when i floor it. just feels like a lack of fuel. once i hit 2nd gear, it gets a bit better and smooths out. if anyone has ANY thoughts, please help!
