Im replacing my valve covers and cant find the torque specs in the haynes or chiltons any idea?

8-10 off the top of my head, maybe wrong but its in that area. Depends on the gasket used

iv'e always went by feel(changed so many)....some books say till you meet crush point or 8lbs.....

just tighten them all finger tight for you dont destroy the gasket then go over them with a ratchet

just glue them on.

I have a heavy hand from too much jerking around, so Ive striped a ton of these and dont want to again.
Is the consencous 8-10lbs? |

3-5 ft-lbs
Its listed as "rocker arm (valve) cover" in the chilton's manual torque specs in chapter 3. |

depends on gaskets though....cork with metal lam are the best....i have two sets of rubbers...didn't care for them.

your right! 36 to 60 inch lbs! why couldnt I see that?
