Default SFI Question..... Please Help

Heres the situation... I dont know if anyone remembers the 93 GT that I posted about a week ago but I am about to buy it. My question is... I ran a carfax on it today and it came up and said "1993 Ford Mustang 5.0 SFI" (sequential fuel injection). Im am not really familiar w/ this but I was wondering... will this cause my any problems down the road while modding the car? Sorry for the very noobish question... Also, I heard that they didnt even use this style on Mustangs... was this just in 93? Thanks.

Sequential Fuel injection means that the engine fires only one injector per spark event, every crank revolution. The alternative to this is "bank to bank" injection where the computer fires alternate "banks" of injectors (all left side injectors, then all right side injectors) for every crank rotation.

SFI is just "smarter" fuel injecion.....no real difference in performance, slightly better fuel economy.

The important thing is that your car is mass air, and not speed density like me

not to worry, thats what they all are.

SEFI actually, sequential electronic fuel injection

important part is the cars history, no mileage tampers, no slavage title, and that it is indeed a 5.0 original car.

the diff for the '93's was the pistons, but still not to worry.

All '86-'95 Mustangs are SFI (sequential fuel injection) or SEFI (Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection) which means that the injectors are pulsed or opened one at a time following the engine's firing order....of course, they are pulsed in the intake stroke not the firing/compression stroke....this is controlled/timed by the ECM and the EEC-IV logic, so it shouldn't be a problem down the road.... Let me break down this in categories and types within the category:

EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) = fuel delivery through injectors controlled by electronic/computerized means
----CFI (Central Fuel Injection) = injectors placed on a throttle body, fuel sprayed to upper intake (carbed style)
----MFI (Multiport Fuel Injection) = injectors placed at the end of the intake runners
--------Simultaneous Injection = all injectors are pulsed at the same time for the same period of time (CFI systems)
--------Group Injection = a group of injectors are pulsed at the same time, usually arranged in "banks" (F/E x50 EEC-IV trucks)
--------SFI = Injectors pulsed independently following an order (Mustangs, Crown Vic's......)
------------Speed Density = Fuel control achieved by engine vacuum. ('86-'88 Mustangs) exception in '88 California Mustangs
------------Mass Air = Fuel control by air flow induction and air mass calculation to the intake. ('89-present Mustangs)

Hope this helps.

LoL Ohh yea 20psi I WISH ................. Seriously though, what would be the best blower (on the cheaper side) for a 302 pushing no more than 12psi... I dont want to take any chances w/ the hyper pistons.
