Default Dome Pistons

I have a 95 Gt 302. I recently upgraded to Trickflow Twisted Wedge Heads and I noticed in the booklet it says they may interfer with dome top pistons. I believe I have flat top pistons, but wanted to make sure no one has had any problems with this.

Some heads require you to have Notched pistons. I think Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads are one of those types. If you don't hear anything yet, you probably don't have a prob. Just make sure you have good valve springs and good retainers.

you dont have a dome piston, I can ssure you of that, TFS states that because they use a rotated valve configuration. If you run low lift no need for notching pistons

500 or below, to check clearance you can use clay and rotate the engine on full revolution and then check to make sure the thinnest point of the clay is atleast 80 thousandths thick. Obviously much easier with engine out of car and a really light valve spring on the head.

Trickflow list max cam lift with stock pistons at .540 when using
TW heads, anything below that no need for notching.

Okay. I was sure I was in the clear, but didn't want to mess anything up. Should be up and running tonight. Got the Pushrods in yesterday and set the rockers, now the easy stuff...intake, valvecovers, etc. Then painted this weekend.

Yes, I hope so at least. I went with 6.75" pushrods.
