No spark when spout connected
Hi
Just bought Mustang 1984 GT 302 throttle body inj. auto trans. conv.it had starting problems so I tested all components, had no spark, coil was bad so I changed coil..dist...TFI module and went to start it .would not start no spark with spout connected. disconnected spout car started. Now I have tested everything I can think of .So I bought a ford wiring diagram and noticed the Wire for spout connector is yellow with green dots ,So I am going to trace the yellow wire to computer which is pin # 36 if there is no shorting.can I assume it is in the commputer?I have never owned a computer car and I'm 58 years old .I have 60s and 70s Fords. Please help an old guy before I put too much money in this thing.I don't believe this model has crank sensor. Thanks much

RE: No spark when spout connected
seems to me that it would be a bad wire on the spout. Almost like the wire that goes back to the computer is broke and grounding out/losing signal. I would suggest using an olms meter and checking for continuity on that wire. If that is good, maybe a bad computer?? I know all that wire does is allow the computer to advance the timing, without it, you will have no computer spark advance.

But still that spout shouldnt be doing that it advances the timing, not pull it out...........Did you check the plugs & wires with the module in outside the cylinders heads IE get someone to hold against metal and see if the plugs are sparking?
