Default 94 cobra overheating

For some reason, and out of no where my car has started over heating. Its not overheating to the point where I can to idle the car and turn it off but its going past the "L" in normal at times if you can picture it... I have't done anything with the car it happened out of no where. I was going to replace the sensor first (4 bucks give or take) but I was hoping you guys coud give me some pointers on what to look at... And the codes don't help, I tried
Thanks guys.

could be just the outside weather changing for the warmer temps.
you could also check the front side of the AC condensor and radiator for a build up of leaves and other junk that is restricting the air flow through the radiator too. try backflushing it from the inside out with a high pressure water hose spray.

Yea, def flush it, could be some restriction or blockage somewhere too.

You say it idles then you shut it down and the temp raises after its off?

If so it will do that.

Mine runs at 160 with it being 85 degrees out side and when i shut it off it will raise to about 180-190 then settle back down as it cools.

If im misunderstanding you please explain.

Alright, now I'm just confused and don't know what he's trying to say. Does it overheat while you're driving and the car's running or after you shut it off?

Check your termostat, maybe it opens too late or doesn't open at all sometimes. Just take it out and see how it runs without stat. If its cooler than there is your problem.
