5.0 dipstick location

Can anyone let me know if the oil dipstick is block mounted or oil pan mounted on a '95 GT. I am having problems with the end of my dipstick getting chewed up and I am trying to figure out how to tackle the problem.

I'll take a shot in the dark and say it's mounted in the block, because the earlier 5.0 Mustangs have it mounted in the block, on the driver's side I believe. I think the other option for a 5.0 is mounted in the timing cover.
