Default GOT THE 347 RUNNING!

I know I haven't been putting out many updates lately, , I've been busy putting in the engine and been after work every day this week buttoning it up.

I know I'll get one of these...

...but I'll post them up once she's cleaned up.

Conversion to MAF was monday, pulley alignment was off due to the balancer being goofy but I made my own, then put the Comp polymer upper on yesturday, filled her up with coolant yesturday, had to get a different tensioner pulley today, then today she fired off the first crank.

At first it was running pig rich and we couldn't see any timing marks on the balancer at all.

Turns out that the wires weren't on the cap right, all over one, if you know what I mean, this made the timing way way off, then the dizzy was a tooth off, easy fix, timed it at 12 degrees for now. The fuel pressure was at 38 with vacuum, never messed with that. Also set the TPS at .95V

Since I'm not running an EGR spacer the throttle cable doesn't line up very well and welded on some plates to bring it out and but it still binds and the throttle sticks but comes back eventually.

Also got to drive for the first time. Pulls real good but cuts out at factory rev limit and still pulls. Seems to be faster when not totally full throttle but hopefully the SCT chip will help.

The cam sounds awesome.

Also I neever put in a VSS when converted to MAF and it never stalled. Converting was pretty easy.

The IAC doesn't seem to do anything, it must be the cam eh?

Good to hear you got it running and all is well. Hope you took the advise I gave with the intake. They are a pita to get to seal up and no vac leaks. Good luck on the rest of the clean up and get some pics up .

Thanks,

it sounds sick.

The intake is sealed up I hope, haven't checked for vacuum leaks yet, and the top is sucked in a bit at idle under vaccum then return normal when the throttle is snapped, cool as hell.

Also the hood doesn't clear...but I'm getting an 87 cowl hood tomorrow for free and since I work at a body shop I'm going to graft the cowl portion onto my hood.

Yeah the intake sucking down in vac and returning to normal on rev is kinda cool. I just worry about it flexing to much and shattering.
