AOD POS Need suggestions
I have been fighting this transmission fluid leak on my AOD tranny in my 5.0 for a good while now. THe leak is caused by a crack in the transmission block right by the tranny fluid cooling line. I tried jb weld. Worked good for about 5 miles, until the car warmed up. Only other thing I can think of is to replace the whole transmission because of this stupid leak. Well here is a picture. I'd like to get my car back on the road its been almost a month now b/c I have no free time and I can't fix this crap.
Can I take it somewhere and have it welded? Is the transmission cast from aluminum? IF so I imagine that will make it harder to get welded. I guess this will be a good excuse to put a t-5 in. stilll.......

what sux is its right above the front cat on the exhaust. So it smokes a lot. I had about 1/2" of jb weld on it last time I tried it, and I applied it in 3 separate settings to ensure it was on really thick. The crack was there when I got the car but for some reason it has gotten worse, probably b/c i've been messing with it a lot. So is the tranny aluminum? It doesn't look like it to me but what do I know

Well i'm in sacramento and apparently in the market for a new transmission. I am kinda hesitant about going to pick n pull b/c you never know if the transmission is shot or not till u try it. I am pretty sure I can get a tranny from PNP for about 120 tho so its not that expensive. Anyone have a AOD or T-5 that lives in or near SAC?
