Sideways?

RE: Sideways?
88 is the best highest stock hp for fox stangs. The notch is also the stiffest and lightest! Naturally when you let it ripp depending on what tires you have it will want to fishtale. you have a 8.8 rear end traction lock which makes the car more squarly. Do you have any experience with rear wheel drive?

Sorry I think you might have mis-understood because I wasn't very clear... I am only wondering why it swings out to the side because I want to keep it straight. I know how to take off but like I said I was only talking about letting the tires loose in the back on purpose

Wait your asking about the tires spinning? It's a mustang. Low end torque + light rear end + heavy foot = tires spinning. Try not to floor it and dump the clutch everytime you take off from a stop and you shouldn't have that problem. And your car should be swinging out to the right, not the left unless you have the wheels turned or there is some serious crowning or indentions in the road.

I asked my local mechanic and he said the right tire get like 60% and the left 40% and when one spins faster than the other they both lock. Therefore the right starts out with more power bringing the car out that way fist. It is very noticable if you try to do donuts going right with a stock rear end.

If you don't have money for really good aftermarket shocks, at least go w/ the KYB's. they're pretty good for the money and better than stock. JD's performance and UPR have pretty cheaps sets of U/L control arms for better control of the rear.

RE: Sideways?
I have my latest update to these facts from the forums. It is eather musclecar.com or mustanggt.com... Can't remember and I am a bit drunk now but I have done much reasearch on the fox stangs and have read that there highest Hp was in 88 and a few went down after that and a few the year after etc. The primarly reason for the 93 to go down to 205 hp was because they revaluated the acctual rwdhp and came to that concolusion. Give me a minute and I will find a sight that you can read it off, if no one else chips in to my quote.

86, 87, 88 was speed density (yea yea....f cali cars).
They had a slightly more aggresive cam from the factory.
However I forget the diff between 86/7 and 88 pistons, though I believe there was one.
