when i do it, i'm going to do H/C/I. I dont like nitrous because having to fill a bottle and all that crap is just a hassle, and putting a SC or turbo on it doesnt really appeal to me either, it seems to ricer-ish, almost like cheating.

I'm right at 300rwhp with the mods in my sig. I'm pretty happy with the car so far, but gas mileage is terrible and the car is tempermental on the street. My buddy has a 14# intercooled Procharger kit (with fuel system upgrades) on his otherwise stock '92 GT and puts down nearly 400rwhp. It idles like stock and gets close to stock gas mileage when taking it easy. His car is faster than mine, has better drivability, and required alot less work.
If I was starting over looking for 300rwhp, and only had a couple grand to play with, I'd probably get a used complete 8-10# supercharger kit. If you have a couple grand on top of that, you could also get the heads/intake/etc....or just put a turbo kit on the stock engine and have fun blowing some **** up. At that power level, other stock stuff starts breaking.

RE: How would you get your stock 5.0 to 300 hp?
put the kenne bell twinscrew supercharger on it has a 450 horsepower rating.
get the 1500 for 2,999
http://www.kennebell.net/supercharge.../mustang50.htm 6 -9psi depending on pulley you use, that will get get you to 300 hp
i plan on putting on a set of afr 185's, 65mm throttle body or 70 havent decided, e303 cam and 1.6 roller rockers and the kennebell twin screw 1500. on top of the mods i already have... should be some very nice horsepower there. at least 450 to the wheels.

Did the 92 gt 5.0's have the forged internals from the factory? 400 rwhp and 14# is a ****load of power from stock internals! Was the 92 5.0 the same as say... a 94-95 5.0 as far as this potential goes? I know 5.0's love boost, but how much can be safely run on a 94-95 gt? Im looking for enough to hand asses to all rice as well as run with ls1s and the new 3-valve stangs. Would, say.. a kenne bell @ about 8# on a stock 5.0 get me to a RELIABLE 280-300 horsepower? Would I be better off with a 96-98 (non-PI) 4.6 instead?

I don't know much about the non-PI 4.6L, other than the heads and intake are restrictive and its alot more expensive to get to the power levels you're after N/A. Supercharger will get you in the same ballpark though. I'm pretty sure they have hypereutectic pistons though....still should be fine at moderate power levels with a good tune. I'd rather start with the 5.0L since it's cheaper and easier to play with.
