mustang totalled
I got rear ended this past friday night by a '01 volkswagon jetta.
my baby is def. totalled. it needs a whole new rear, hatch, body work on the left rear quarter panel, pushed the gas tank up and forward about 3 inches, broke the drivers seat and shifted the tranny up about 2 inches from where it was. the car was in "perfect condition" before this with brand new black paint with a light metallic flake in it, chrome SN-95 waffle ponies, steeda hatch, rear bumper, front bumper, hood and shift kit. Near flawless black interior- and we all know how rare that is.
just wondering if anyone knows what to expect back from insurance money, seeing as it was her fault! kelly blue book value is $2700 on a '90 mustang LX with the 5.0 in it! which is crazy because I paid 6,000 for it around christmas this past january. we all know that the average price- pretty much no matter where you are in the country- is around 4,000- around 5,500 for a very nice 5.0 mustang. so, will the insurance company take that into consideration, or will they try to pull one over on me and offer me the $2700, if that...
any feedback would be helpful, thanks
also, when they total it, I want to keep most everything that is on the car, including stripping the interior, motor, trans. my chrome ponies and the steeda afrermarket front bumper and hood and lowering springs. can I buy the car back for a "VERY LOW PRICE" or what?

I know exactly how you feel. When I wrecked my car I was all over the internet trying to make sure I was going to get a good amount of money for it. The guy at the body shop told me I did just under 6 grand worth of damage and that my best be is just to tell the insurance company that I had a stock mustang gt and then let the pay me for that. I ended up getting just over 4 grand for my car with only 300 bucks to buy her back (for all the parts I put into her) and 500 dollar deductible... as of right now I have a 3400 check sting in my room just waiting to buy suspension and a blower for my new 5.0!!!! Good luck with your situation and I’m sure all will work out for the best.

when they total it out buy it back from them at a fraction of the of what they give you and put the engine and trans in another mustang...
my friend totaled out his car they gave him 5500 and they offered for him to buy it back at 550 that would help you get into another stang without having to spend another 5000.

The insurance company will try and just give you bluebook value.
argue with them, and best yet tell them instead of a check you want them
to just replace it with a like year and mileage car.
