I have a spool rear end and I bought a All new rear end at carlisle and I want to change it does andyone ever do it before and how hard was it and is there a place with directions its for a fox 5.0

The spool is in my rear end in the car now it was a drag car and Im turning ti to a fast street car and I bought a complete rear axles everythign it should just drop the old one and the new one bolt right up in it right?

well if your talking about rebuildin the whole rearend you need some know how specs and a lot of special tools. you cant just bolt a gear in and go.

I did that on my first gear install, and the gears howled at me so loud I couldnt hear my motor/exhaust, and my car is LOUD.
you only really need 2 special tools, a depth micrometer with a magnetic base, and a pinion depth tool.

and replace all the bearings too, with new races too.
