Default 1985 5.0 drivetrain question

Hey Everyone thans for reading my post. I have just purchase a 1985 GT Canyon Red with sunroof, I love it, 40k original miles along with original tires (of course dry rotted) but anyway. One thing I noticed was the trany was painted blue, it has been a while since I have been inder one of these cars, but would you say this is not original? thanks in advance!!!

If it's painted blue it's not original. How does it shift? I would wonder about the miles as well...

I believe my original one was painted gray. Cant remember blew it up so long ago, but every other trans Ive installed was just raw aluminum.

Ford Motor did NOT paint any transmissions.
In fact you don't want a painted tranny as the paint will hold heat in.
Don't panic, I've used 727 MOPAR trannys that were painted undr some fairly extreme conditions for several year and didn't have any failures......
