still overheating!!!
I just got my car out of the shop. It was running hot and losing water somewhere before. There was no water in the oil and no water coming out of the exhaust. The guy ran a compression check first and said it had good compression all the way around. He replaced the water pump, fan, fan clutch, radiator, thermostat, and hoses and said he fixed it. I went to pick up the car and drove it down the road. He told me to drive it like i would so i did. It ran fine and didn't run hot at all. It stayed around 195 the whole way home which was about 60 miles. I didnt drive it after this for about 2 weeks and im going down the road and it got up to right below the red. I slowed down and drove real slow and it cooled down a little. I got to the store and put water in the radiator and it took about 1/2 a gallon. After this it ran fine back home and after i got home i checked the radiator again and was about another 1/2 gallon low. I dont know whats wrong with it cuz it ran fine for 60 miles and now theres something wrong. PLEASE HELP!!!

RE: still overheating!!!
it is boiling over, very bad.
test your coolant, mabye there is too much water.
since you just brought it to a shop and they did work on it, and it didnt fix it you should bring it back and say what the hell.

It had 50/50 in it. So what does that mean if the radiator is losing water and the overflow is boiling? The first time i noticed this the pressure buildup caused the overflow cap to pop off. The car only seems to do this when its driven hard during the day too. Theres not really a problem at night. Any more suggestions?

RE: still overheating!!!
it could mean there is a leak in your head gasket sending exhaust gasses into the cooling system pressurizing it, and filling it with exhaust bubbles, causing it to overheat and boil the coolant.
