RE: Tractionlok
What the heck are you talking about? And my Buddy is the one who installs it. He's done all the rear end gear work on my cars.

Probly was set up wrong maybe? If you don't have the tools or connections to set it up right then don't do detroit, the power trax has no ring/pinion setup so it should be easier for you to do by yourself.

Here's the link to the powertrax thing. I really don't know anything about that installation I was just going off of what summit's site said. Here you go, you can read for yourself. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku They list it at about $470

RE: Tractionlok
I can't agree with this one. I have thrashed on mine for four years without a single problem.

Trac-Loks are garbage (this is what my tranny/rearend guy says) they wear out all the time and quickly at that, and thats just a fact. Just buy a good detroit locker instead and be done with it. I gotta True-Trac and its great.

Hehe yea, well to each his own, I've never had any problems with my detroit true-trac. Everyone has their own horror stories about this and that ya know? Detroit Locker is a reputable company though. Either way what I'm saying is anything but trac-lok. It's great for OEM but when you start putting power to it is just going to break. So just choose for what your application is. Mine = Daily drive and casual weekend racer.

also, you can increase the lock-up on the traction-loc by getting two rebuild kits and replacing every other smooth disc (from the kit your installing) with a friction disc (from the extra kit).

RE: Tractionlok
Not sure on the year it started, either 85 or 86. After that year all V8 equipped stangs had em.
