Sorry to hijack, but Is there any way to tell if your traction-lok is out other than externally checking the tires to see if they're both peeling when you chirp it? Can you do something by yourself that doesn't take a year to check if it still functions properly?

i believe frpp is selling the same traction lock that the car comes with. i just got the rebuild kit for mine and it works flawlessly.. also its only about $40

a good burnout is the only way i know of, though really i could tell when mine was going out because it would just spin the inside wheel rather then whipping around a corner.

Trac-Loks are garbage (this is what my tranny/rearend guy says) they wear out all the time and quickly at that, and thats just a fact. Just buy a good detroit locker instead and be done with it. I gotta True-Trac and its great.

Probly was set up wrong maybe? If you don't have the tools or connections to set it up right then don't do detroit, the power trax has no ring/pinion setup so it should be easier for you to do by yourself.

So on those Power Trax do you request a certian ratio and thats what they send you, as well how does the drive shaft connect into the carrier? Are they that good? How much did ya pay for it?
