Default New motor in- 1 question

Well we got my "new" motor in last night and it runs like a raped ape! I've got one question- We put back on the original fan and shroud and now when you close the hood it hits the shroud and then the fan rubs on the shroud and i've already rubbed off about 1/8" off the top of the fan blades. We adjusted the shroud a little higher and the hood will just push it back down. Anyone experience this? or have any fixes?

Are you sure you seated the shroud in the clips in the bottom of the radiator?

This probably has nothing to do with it as it sounds like it's a shroud issue (it's hitting the hood), but did you put new motor mounts in? If so, what year were they for?

Well i took the motor out of an 89 GT for about $450 and the guy at the place said from what he could tell it was stock. Well first try it started right up, set the timing and everything and it has a small cam. I'm suprised it doesn't run like crap cause of speed density. The idle is fairly rough but it pulls sooo hard.

Did you check the shroud to see if it's in both of the clips at the bottom of the radiator? Did you make sure the end tanks are resting in the rubber bushings at the bottom of the radiator support? Did your radiator hold downs go on easily?
