Ashtray lid problems?

Ok this is what you do, sometimes the part that pivets gets off track happened to me. I bought one of those ash tray kits and never used it. Took a better look at it and one side fell outta the tracking and the spring popped off. Attached the spring back and put it back on the tracking and works good again. Those kit's will make it work but I think there functioning is without a spring action. I think it just make it a more durable open and close. But I don't think it has any tension like the original condition.

I had the same problem, there is only one spring that holds the lid shut, i purchased one from CJpony parts and it works great, i did how ever pay $10 for the spring.
