Re-Doing Rims, Need help!
Well when I first got my stang back in January, The guy who sold it to me painted the pony rims black. They look awesome and all but they are flaking bad. My guess is that he didnt paint them with a high temp enamel paint. What grit sand paper should I use to get all of it off? I'm going to do it piece by piece because I have no time to take all of them off and sand and spray. So im going to sand them all one day this weekend and then next weekend im going to re paint them black. Tell me if you think I should keep them black... Well heres a couple of pics of the rims and my car. Thanks!

Get some paint stripper from an auto parts store and strip all the paint off the rims just made sure to cover the tires they will eat the tires I believe. Sand the rims with like 320 grit sand paper to get them scuffed up a little and Then get a paint prep can to clean the entire surface. Then paint them what ever color you want

scuff em up a little bit and throw some primer on em, then shoot em again. Personally, I think the black rims look really good on your car. I was considering doin it my black hatch, but figured it was gonna be a little too much black. If you dont mind, sometime in the future can you take a picture from the side of your car, like straight on profile. I kind of want to photochop em and see what its gonna look like. Thanks a lot\

Well I dont care for the stock grey color, so I think the black looks pretty nice if it were done nicely. If I did a glossy black, i'd think it would end up looking cheap in different angles of the sun unless it had a prof. clear coat or something.
