Default Please help me choose...

I can't decide on which cam I want so I'd like some opinions

Car: 302ci, AFR 165s, Cobra Intake (for now), full exhaust, 75mm MAF, prolly 70mm TB, 3.55 gears, 1.7rr, and eventually boost.

It's a street car that I'd like to turn a good time at the track as well.

Cams:

1) Crane 2031
Duration @ 050 lift: 214/220
Lift w/ 1.7s: .513/.529
RPM Range: 2000-5500
LSA: 112*

2) Steeda #19
Duration @ 050 lift: 220/226
Lift w/ 1.7s: .510/.510
RPM Range: 2300-6000
LSA: 115*

only thing is the Steeda cam doesnt have a CARB EO #, which would be nice to have but they did assure me with cats it would pass emissions... not that I need to pass emissions or anything right now, but u never know what's gonna change.

If your gonna go boost I say the Steeda but if going n/a or n2o go with a tfs, Comp. or Lunati. Not a big fan of Crane's Product line or do I know anyone that has had any luck with them.

and... did you like it, good bad, power, etc?

The reason these cams are the choices is because they are computer controlled compatible and shouldnt give me any PTV clearance problems with the new heads. They're also pretty streetable cams, nothing too agressive. Thanks for the input so far, more opinions please!

Get this... my buddy's running a cam that has something like 226 230 duration on the street in a flat tappet motor. I think you'ld be fine with a big cam.

Just remember, the closer the centerline the more aggressive the sound. 5.0's like to run a dual pattern cam because of their small exhaust valves. If I were you I'ld go with the biggest cam you can afford to run. ie... one or two steps below where you might need vaccum cannisters. Plus you're running a roller cam so don't worry much about the bottom end power. The other thing about centerline is that if you run anything larger than a 112 centerline your cam is going to be "lazy" and will benefit a lot from nitrous. Even a 112 is conservative in my eyes. Why not call the comp cams help line? It's free and they give great advice... I call them once a month because thats about how often I seriously consider changing my cam.

I cant go with a cam like TFS1 or the one Adder suggested because its too much lift with my 1.7 rockers. I'm keepin the Cobra intake for now because I eventually want to do a KB and dont think it'll be worth swapping the intake. I know I could call all the cam companies but I dont feel like dealing with that, when they're probably just going to tell me more stuff I dont want to hear. I basically would like to know which of those 2 cams would better suit my car.
