k well thinking about adding nitrous to my setup in the furure for a quick/easy boost. now we have all herd the horrer storys about blowing up engines and **** with the stuff adn of corse im not rich enough to go and do that.
i guess what i am wondering is how much can an engine with basicly stock(basic bolt ons full exhaust) take?? what parts will i need to have regardless of how strong a shot i run???
any other good info??? i appreciate any fist had experiance of suggjestions tahnks
dont make fun of my spelling or typos

RE: No2
N2O is a is a gas the multiplies the amount of O2 in the comsbustion chamber thus causeing the compression to increase making more power. Its like putting you engines compression on steroids it is a wonderful feeling. The good ignition is needed to fire the mixture off and the fuel to help tame the mixture and prevent detonation. For every 50 hp of N2O you use retard you timing 2 degrees is a good rule of thumb to use as well.

nitrogen dioxide (no2) is very acidic and health threatening....you should use nitrous oxide instead (n2o) ...... ah, just bustin your ballz.
anyways, google it , you should find plenty.
holleys site used to have some good reading on there, but they changed things around a bit and i haven't really been there loking.

nitrous is 33% oxygen, so it's oxygen rich compared to breathing air that is typically 21%.
it's chemical characteristics cause it to boil and become -129* at room temperature and typical ambient pressure. (730 psi will keep it from boiling and stays in liquid form)
so it has a tremendous coing effect that also boosts performance.
spraying your car has no adverse effects itself, it isno different than any other power adder , but your not increasing cylinder pressure ALL THE TIME just when you squirt it.
it will however mutliply any problem you might have. if your lean....you'll go real lean and break something. if something is not up to snuff, you could break it. but you would break it anyways if it was a faulty.
basic safeguards for nitrous are: don't get stupid, max out at 1/2 of your NA hp, no more. and don't go lean....running phat might lose you a couple ponies, but you won't break anything.
