Default 50,000K motor for 50 bucks>>>

While At work today I came across A guy working on his 1955 Wheelers Wagon, and we started talking about cars and performance when conversation about my car came up, then he told be he had a 302 Motor in his Garage thet his niegbor had in his car, he told me he modified the Car quite a bit and had to sell it for personal reasons, but any how hes giving me the motor for 50 bucks.

Its off a 84 Mustang 5.0 that was fuel injected, I kinda thought it was a good deal, having a spare motor around may not be a bad idea considering mine wont last.

Now my question is, is this a good idea? That year motor any good? Same as the 87-92? Notched pistons? Any info would be great. Im picking it up tomarrow.

A friend of mine that knows every single thing in and out of every year mustang told me that my old car an 85' coupe probly only had about 190 horse. 30 hp short of the 87-93's. I've also heard 86 and older arent h/o's. The heads are different also.

either way you still have a good block and rotating asembly, its hard to find a bare 302 block around here for under 100 bucks

Really? Damnit! Well I guess I can just get upgraded pistons and stuff. Prolly bore it .30 over and get some after market pistons to handle boost.

low pressure central fuel injection was available in 84, also the pistons were not flat-top. they were low-compression (8.4) dished pistons.

black snake- the block is weak, the cam is a flat tappet. IMO not a good choice for your car.
