Is the sound under the car or, coming from under the hood?............. loose header bolts I would think.

did you take the smog crap out and leave the crossover pipe from behind the heads?? or didja take the smog out, take the crossover out, and leave holes in the back of the heads??

i had the exact same problem wit my 95 cobra. could not find what it was for the life of me...so i pulled the motor and rebuilt the whole thing...problem solved!

i would say take off the header and put a new gasket. sometimes if you have a cheapy paper gasket it will crack from heat. i went with a nice felpro gasket. that should seal the deal there.

i know it sounds kinda stupid to do this BUT...put some high strength locktite on the bolts it will help to seal them in for a while. after driving for a week or so recheck them. i had the same problem with my bolts and i even had some that popped out well i was driving just offerin some friendly help. enjoy

No kiddin. One header bolt was missing and the other was loose on my car. I REPLACED THEM WITH allen head screws and lock washers and so far everything is fine.

if ur bolts were really lose you may have cracked a gasket if they got to lose your best bet is to get a good thick aluminum gasket if it happens again and use blue locktite on the bolts

sometimes locktite will make the bolts break off in the head.
