Default Axle Questions

I am one of the people who are converting their 2.3L fox to a 5.0 and had some questions about my axle. I read the codes on it and figured out that it is a 7.5" with 3:73 gears. I have looked everywhere in this area for an 8.8 or 9 that would bolt right on, but can't find any that are 4 lug. I just bought my wheels and tires so I want to keep the 4 lug config. Anyone Know what I could possiby replace in the axle to hold to the 350-450Hp?

I've been asking around an looking at salvages. All the good stuff is taken. Can't I just change out the guts to the axle or is there more to it than that?

more to it then that, with 350-400 horse you dont want to be messing around with a 7.5, try ebay and look for a bare housing then build it

Is there a such thing as a 4 lug conversion for an 8.8 out of say, a lincoln or older ford?

im fairly sure most of the widths are different but, people use the rears out of lsc's and turbo coupes because they are disk

we it's really no big issue..most early gt's had thee 7.5 as well as rangers..it will hold up fine to normal v8 use...so don't be afraid of it while your looking to upgrade

hey you can always use the rear out of a 94+ mustang but you are still going to have to convert it back to the 4 lug.
