any ideas?
here's my problem:14.39@96.7, 14.53@95.6,14.58@95.4,14.64@95.6,60 ft times from2.13 to 2.21, why so slow? car run at same engine temp. same air temp same day, each run slower as you can see. here's my car:86 lx with 85 roller short block, b303 cam, ported e7 heads, edelbrock performer 289 intake, holley 650 double pumper carb with 2 inch spacer, 1.6 roller rockers, 2 1/2 inch exhaust with no cats, shorty headers, c4 trans with shift kit, 3200 stall converter(i'm only getting 2200 out of it), 3.73 rear gears, any ideas why this is happening to me. it sucks being the laughing stock every friday night.

RE: any ideas?
well track temp plays a role to slow times as well as heat in your engine....for 1 thing a smaller carb would help you times as well as some drag radials......what are you leaving the line @......put the battery in the trunk to aid wt transfer and lighten up the car as much as possible....what is your fuel pressure? 6 psi would be good...what is the timing? air pressure of tires?.
now on the carb do some jet changes and spring changes as well as maybe changing the throttle linkage cam

leave at 2100rpm, haven't used my drag radials 'cause wheel spin isn't much more than a quick chirp and go, i understand removing weight and stuff but shouldn't my car be faster than that. ther's even milder cars than mine running faster than that and are full weight 'cause i asked them. also i used to have a 570 holley street avenger and ran even slower

RE: any ideas?
I'm estimating your setup at about 240-250rwhp
for 3200-3400 lbs car your qrt times are right on.
If you could strip as much wieght out as possible on race nite that will help
it's something like every 100lbs you take off is like adding 80-100hp.
An inexpensive 75shot nitrous kit off ebay will do wonders too, and wont hurt anything.

as for your rpm leave you need to up it to 2500 wheel speed is very important to quick 60 foot times......anything you can take off the front will make the car react faster....also weld wheel take off about 40-50 pounds of unsprung wt.. a huge help
you can get a ssset of cheap 4 banger front spring will help

RE: any ideas?
ok well you need to change the rear springs an add an air ag....so some tire pressure adjustment..always right down your changes with air temps and any track conditions...this helps....the times are a lil slow but what altitude is the track?....you need some pulleys with get you a few tenths. need to get those 60 foots in the 1.8's
