Horrible Noise
 

i got a 91 LX 5.0, i just took off the four cats on the h pipe, but now there is this horrible clicking noise wen i drive its coming from the back of the manifold, wat can taht be?

An exhaust leak? By the way, what did you put in place of the cats you removed?

i got them cut off and welded pipes instead

Hardcore. If it wasn't doing it before, I would guess there's a leak somewhere. I've heard that exhaust leaks can make tapping/clicking sounds.

how can i check for some leaks?

I don't know the proper way, but I've done it by inserting a tube into my ear, and putting the other end near the suspected leaky area, and just listening around for the leak. I've also found exhaust leaks just using my hands to feel for moving air, in the suspected area. Hopefully someone will chime in with a better method for you, and to verify that it could be a leak causing the sound. Good luck.

how bout if i spray carb cleaner on it would it do anythin?

I don't think so. But I wouldn't spray carb cleaner on the h-pipe area of a running car. Just my opinion.

could just be the clamps moving around

when the cars cold get under there and start wiggling parts

also feel around for cracks in the exhaust with hands. only feather it tho cause if u do find a crack and it gets under ur skin its going to be worse than a paper cut
