Default low budget performance

Im currently looking for a Fox-body 5.0 and plan to do some upgrades. I'll be working with a small budget and am wondering if I should go with an EFI or carbed 5.0L. Please help me make the right choice.

carb'd. i've done both. now that i have efi, i wish i didn't. i've replaced more sensors than i knew existed, and the car is still not right. if i had spent this much $ on a carb car, it would be ridiculously fast. seriously, get the carb

i suggest the 85, because it has most of the goodies- t5 tranny, hyd. roller cam, forged pistons, etc

I wouldn't really agree with the first part of that. The second part,,who buys a "performance" car for gas milage?

Ok that's what i figured. I dont really like the front ends on those earlier foxes though. Is it practical to convert an EFI to carb?

I found an article and it looks a little complex for me. I would be satisfied with 300rwhp, can i achieve this with EFI for a fair price?
