Default Used Ignition

I was wondering if there is anything wrong with buying a slightly used ignition system, specifically jabobs. It's something I never really looked at much before but would like to do but don't wanna spend ~$400 right now on one. I can't think of anything specific but I just figured since it's electronic it's not as simple as buying a used set of wheels or something. Any opnions would be welcome as long as they support me buying a used one[8D]. JK, just let me know what you guys think.

with electronics, no matter what it is, you want to make damn sure it is working before you buy it so you don't get something that doesn't work. I wouldn't buy a used ignition unless I could see it operate on the car of the person selling it first and then I would stand right there and watch him take it off so I know I'm getting the same parts I saw working, not something he's got stashed back in the garage that is broke. but that's just me being untrusting of other people, but once bitten, twice shy.

Yea, I know what you mean. There's a jacobs setup for the stang with the plug wires, coil, and module that I'm looking at right now for around $100. Says "This Jacobs Electronics Energy Team Complete High Performance Ignition System fits an 1986 - 1990 5.0 Mustang or Lincoln LSC. It contains an energy pak computerized ignition sensor, metal core radio suppression ignition cables, variable magnetic core energy coil, complete installation instructions, all required mounting and connection hardware, built-in theft deterrent system, and spark plug wire markers and seperators. New condition. Paid $375 for entire system." Sounds good to me. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't one of those things that aren't good to buy used. There's some things even if they work, that aren't really a good idea to buy used, know what I mean? Anyways, as long as I can get it for around 100 I'll probably go for it.
