How the hell do you open a locked gas cap????? My sister just bought a car and it had a locking gas cap, but the key was lost.

Pry it off is about the best you can do. Or get some big channel locks, and crush the outer ring until you can see the locking mechanism. Obviously you will need a new cap.

it should of been her ignition key....it was a safety thing.that way your car was shut off before you messed with gas cap.

our monte carlo had a locking gas cap w/o a key. just call a locksmith, they're usually pretty cheap and theyll get it taken care of. just have a backup gas cap on hand to put on afterwards

Depending on how hard it is, I'd attempt to remove the interior like on our cars, and take the gas tube off from the tank tube and then it would prolly be easier to work it off.

Not to mention safer.

Otherwise, take that schitt back to where she bought it and raise some hell.
