does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is?

dont stop driving, duh.

seriously though, sticking relay perhaps? if worse comes to worse, just throw in inline switch in, a lot of guys do it as a theft issue too. Without fuel pressure, your car isnt starting, whether they hotwire it, replace the engine, whatever. Just a thought.

I would fix it though, just cuz a half-ass repair like that isnt my style.

ORIGINAL: lookinforastang

its full when the oil reaches the arrow pointing to the hashed areas

if its over the arrow its over filled

i over filled mine a little bit too but i just ran it as is. she dosnt smoke and burned most of that excess oil off and its good now. i need an oil change soon and i checked it the other day was a little bit below but i also got a leak at the drain plug. damn washer broke in half.

personaly i wouldnt worry about it unless it was really over filled.

these cars are 5 liters therefor hold 5 quarts of oil. u can put more oil in them i know my chevy 305 was a 5.0L but liked 6 quarts of oil. she was a smoker tho and ate oil faster than gas [8D]
I think we have different dipsticks, Lookin'. My oil level is there when I am a quart low. So your saying that yours is full when the oil reaches the top of the hashed area--where the arrow points to? I wonder why our sticks are different.

Hey 88rubbereater, how does your cruise control work? I'm wondering whether a vacuum leak in the cruise control system (which runs on engine vacuum) might not be causing my (and maybe your) rough idle. My cruise control works, but surges pretty badly. Does yours do this?

No my cruise control doesn't work, it might be a fuse or something. Im actually going to Advance Auto today b/c I need to get a new headlight bulb and a couple fuses b/c my horn doesn't work and I only have a 10 day inspection right now. If I can figure out where the relay is I can pick one of those up too. And my dipstick reads up by the words full too. Do you guys think my slighty surging idle could have to do with my dying 75A alt with u/d pullies? I plan on buyin a 3g this week.

Ok guys, now I have another perhaps bigger problem. I just went to advance and bought my new headlight and my new fuel pump relay. I installed them and now all of a sudden my car doesn't want to start! I had to try 3 times to get it to start before it did, and now when I let it sit at idle it stalls on me! What the hell is wrong now, does the computer need to reset? Thanks

Never mind. After the car was running I left to go to college and 1 minute down the road the car died and refused to start again, I pulled out the new relay, plugged in the old and BAM! she started feirst try. The pump even turns off when I turn the key off now! SO im returning the part and getting my 17 bucks back. And thanks for al of the help finding the problem! you guys kick @$$!

So you somehow accidently fixed it? That doesn't sound like it is solved... unless a bad connection.
