Throttle body question
Hi guys just new to site and some what of newbie when it comes to bolt on stuff. I have a 1992 LX coupe 5.0L. It's somewhat stock except for K&N filter, flowmaster exhaust, underdrive pulleys, lowered 1.5", and a C&L 76mm mass airsensor whith the tube same size. I was going to put in the Cobra upper and lower intake and was thinking abuot a bigger Throttle body in. Does anyone know which would be the best for my set up and if i'm letting more air in the engine do I need to do something about the fuel or the computer. I don't want to run too lean.
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: Throttle body question
Until you replace the heads, 65mm should be plenty. 70 will probably hurt you until the rest of the motor will flow more air.
I'd work on getting some BBK or FRPP shorties and a mid pipe, too.

definetly go with the 24lb injectors, its better for the long run anyway

Note: If you do go to 24's, don't forget to buy the 24# sample tube for your MAF.

RE: Throttle body question
GSPFunk is right. If you are not changing heads (the 1st real restriction on a stock motor), you don't need to change all that stuff. I see a lot of people slap on an intake, throttle body and injectors looking for power. I know it's an easier and many times, much less costly (it's pretty close when you do the math...) a mod than heads but it is not really the best bang for the buck, non power adder mod. If you can't get any (much) more air through the motor with the stock heads on it, what good is increasing the size of everything before it? If you're going to swap heads in the near future, by all means, get the corresponding intake stuff. The stock intake is not all that bad...you need to tailor the mods to your motor. Bigger is not always better.
