switching engine with a 87 thunderbird any suggestions?
I'm going to be swithing my 5 speed 87 mustang GT 5.0 engine with a 5.0 from a 87 thunderbird automatic any suggestions?

its not the same 5.0 and makes less hp and torque
the stang 5.0 is high output (higher compression)
i agree.. dont do it.

I'm doing it because the Mustang's engine smokes too much its like a blueish whiteish smoke
it burns your eyes and the engine has no power.

thats what happens when u beat on it...
probably blew the headgaskets
u check the oil?
u know gaskets are like $20 and would take u a couple hours to replace rather than doing an entire swap.
i dont think u thought this one through...

Yeah, I dont think that is an "HO" version of that engine in the thunderbird.
