I am not having someone do the buildup..my uncle and I are going to do it (the car guru of the family, he rebuilds motors like its brushing his teeth).

Heres the thing, for ex: if you got a set of AFR 165's or 185's they will cost you 1250+ BUT there are also many other good heads out there that arent that much money. You can also look into used heads.... theres always someone out there who buys stuff and doesnt install it or installs it for a few months and takes them off. Look for deals and I am sure you can find a really nice head for 600-700 dollars. Also, a cam w/ stock heads is kind of pointless. You can do it but wont see much gain.

Well eliminating the heads...is it possible to run a cam with the stock heads?

I was just about to get a set of edelbrock heads w/ crane rockers for $500 bucks.... Im not saying the deals are all over the place but they are out there. You just need to find them
