95 starter in 89?
ok guys i need a new starter.
i have heard of people changing the starters in the 91 and down foxes with the 93 and up starters.
is there any modifications to be made? or is it just a bolt on kinda thing?
reason is because i have long tube headers, and it was meant for the small starter design and the starter basically just lies on the headers, and due to the heat, after a year, the starter is shot, and will not crank up when hot.

RE: 95 starter in 89?
you can use the 93 and up starter but you will have to do some wiring. the 93 and up has a selonoid built on the starter witch means you have two wires instead of just one. you will need to get about 6 feet of 10 gauge wire and some ilets. then at you fender mounted selonoid move your starter main wire to the other side of the selonoid and run it to the big post on the new starter. the take the 10 gauge and run it from the otherside of the fender mount to the small post on the top of the starter mounted selonoid. the wala you save weight and your car starts better. but if your headers are that close i would also recomend a starter heat sheild

so the main starter on the car right now you move it to the big post on the new starter?
and the new wire on the smaller part?
also, what do you mean by the fender mount? that's whats confusing me
