Power locks don't work

RE: Power locks don't work
Oh . Your door will work fine without the power door locks if you dont want to spend any money. The door lock mechanism actually moves more freely without the power door lock attatched. You could then just get a alarm system with remote door opening.

RE: Power locks don't work
Hello everyone,
First time poster. I have a 1991 Mustang GT with more or less the same power lock problems. My driver's door lock simply doesn't work, have to use the key (forcefully) to open it manually, obviously needing replacement. Today, right as it started raining, my passenger door lock also stopped working. I have to use the door key to open both doors now. What I did notice is that while in the vehicle, as I use the lock/unlock button, my ammeter gauge shows a current drop (I assume the actuator is stock) as I attempt to unlock the passeneger door. Any suggestions? Perhaps I need to lubricate certain areas within the door mechanism?
While I am at it, being my first post, my air conditioning is blowing the cold air towards the windshield (defrost mode). I've cycled my a/c selector (defrost/vent/floor, etc) without being able to move it. I checked the a/c selector ****/relay and checks good. Someone suggested it mught a "vaccum (sp) line" gone bad.
Thanks for any help may be willing to share.

ORIGINAL: Stiffclutch
my power locks don't work also I can use the pass side like a car without power locks but the drivers side cannot be locked, it's almost like the lock is stuck. I was told that this is the actuator is either froze or unhooked. That might be the case with your door locks also

RE: Power locks don't work
actuator... easy fix if you have small hands, because it is tucked in behind the sheet metal in the door pretty good, you'll need to remove the door panel and plastic sheeting and then drill out the rivot on the door jam side of the door(below the locking mechanism), and then reach in and dissconnect the link, the kit form 5.0 resto comes with several links and the actuator and a new bracket, but no rivot, so you'll need to go to a Ford Dealership for the rivot (its a big rivot), and then press in the pin to hold the correct link, and then you can replace the actuator, connect the link and test before you rivot in place. then your all set. may take 1-1 1/2 hours if you take your time.
