Found this deal on ebay, seems to be good.

What do you all think of using that motor to build up a 351 or 347? It would undergo a complete rebuild, obviously. THanks!

A 351 can be made by stroking and boring a 302? I don't have the money to buy a completely rebuilt motor - I figure this would be a good base. I need street driveability so I really don't want to go above a 351 .

while most everything is interchangeable, i was under the impression the 351w block was stronger... might be wrong... but if not you can find the 351w as easily... very common...

Oh. I thought the 302 and 351 had the same block...guess not, or does it?

I'll look into the 351's randy

What can a 302 be made into by stroking? 347? What if you bore (.030" over) and stroke a 302?

Thanks!

dont take my word for it... hopefully someone else will jump in here... i know the deck is higher in a 351... as for as stroking a 302, ill leave that up to others as well, but you could probably find a lot of useful info a www.dssracing.com

302 and 351W are different blocks, they are similar and will bolt up in the same place
but are not the same.

351 has higher deck height, stronger block and stronger crank

351 uses different distributor, flywheel, balancer and headers.

and you want a 94-98 351W block that is a "roller cam" block.

Okay, well I think I'd rather just stroke a 302. What would that punch it out to? 347?

351 is mo-better and cheaper to build even with the swap over parts you have to buy.
