Default 4.6 now, 5.0 later?

I've had two 5.0's. Both 95's and one was a Cobra and I loved them both. Well now I have a 99 GT And i'm just not feeling it. A friend of mine keeps telling me to stick with modular, saying it can withstand more the a Pushrod. Also saying you can get more HP for less. I still want a freakin' 5.0 engine though. Just can't beat it. Anyways to my point. What are the Pros And Cons of a 5.0 and a 4.6? I think i'm going to get a 95 and change over to a Carb. I also want to push around 300-400 RWHP.

If you were sitting there asking yourself "5.0 now, 4.6 later?" then you wouldn't have started this thread...and you would be extremely happy, most likely cruising around in your sweet 5.0. So, in my opinion...after my horrible analysis of you. I would say reach for the stars and go for the 5.0. If you had the 5.0...you wouldn't even be thinking about the 4.6...your exhaust would be drowning that thought out.

Well I plan on paying it off before I mod it. Which would be all new forged internals. 306. Probably JE pistons. Not sure about what style of heads, intakes and cam. I want something radical, but be able to drive streets. It won't be my only means of Transportation so the gas consumption isn't a big factor. I would be happy with 300. Hoping for about 350. I still don't know if I should stay EFi with it or go Carb. Whats better for the style i'm looking at? Maybe go to the track every friday. Or maybe every other and a few street races. But I want a deep, high loping sound.
