roller block questions
I have a 5.0 HO roller motor I am going to swap into my 69. got all the suspension beef i need so no worries there. I needed some of the acessories mounts and other goodies for it. I scored on a 5.0 and an AOD today. Everthing I needed for cheaper than all the parts would cost. The owner picked if up from a wrecking yard and never used it. The exhaust casting numbers are for an 86 and the tag stuck to the valve covers have 5-11-87 on them. Got a bunch to do before I can get it out of the back of my pickup. I'm just hopeing to get a closer idea of what it is before I can get to the starter to remove it to read the block casting number or pull the valve cover to see which heads are on there. The EFI intake opens on the opposite side of the engine than the HO does. While the HO opens on the passenger side this one is on the driver side. Were all 5.0's roller blocks like the HO was. I know we need more info to get a positive ID and tearing it down would be even better, but I wont be able to get to this in a few weeks. Wife has a honey do list a mile long. and as long as she it happy I can get needed things for the Mustang even though I don't have time to work on it now. what do ya think is it a roller and maybe what did it come out of. I can see part numbers on most of the outside parts most of them on stickers but some are castings. I can se a ".S" stamped on the rear outside corner of the head on the drivers side up by the edge of the valve cover. This was great. it will save me a ton of money. sorry for the double post. You can delete this one if you want.
