I'd get an adjustable quadrant. it's alittle tricky to un-install the old one however. you have to get on the floorboard of the drivers side and look up....obviously.
the stock quad. is held in by only like 3 bolts and a few cotter pins, but its a pain in the *** to wiggle it out of the cramped few inches that its in. unbolt the long shaft and try to unclip all of the cotter pins that hold the 2 gear lookin things together. once the cotter pins are out, the gears will come apart, and get the shaft out. then ur done taking the old out, just put the new one in. it's alot easier putting it in than it is taking it out.

for the stock replacement, I went to my local ford dealership and it was like $50 for it. for an adjustable, it will be more, but def. cheaper than $80.

Is an adjustable cable going to be a hassle?

not at all, it goes in just like the old one. it's much nicer too. metal components on the adjustable dont beak or wear out like the factory plastic ones.

you'll like it.

You can just take the seat out. That's what I did with mine. It's only 4 bolts and a wire connector if you have power lumbar.
