its only hard to shift after like 45 minutes of driving and longer, otherwise it shifts fine... should i start by changing the fluid? how would i check for other problems that could be causing this?

Bad Karma

Drop the fluid. If its dark and smells bad, then the Syncros are shot.

There will also be traces of a greyish content in the fluid if the Syncros are bad. First change the fluid and if that doesn't solve the problem, then start saving money for the rebuild.

That's really all you can do when it comes to a manual trans.

I went w/ Royal Purple 75w90 for my rear end. Great stuff and already has the FM in it.

thanks for the help, i hope i dont have to do a rebuild now, i was planning on waiting a few years. is royal purple tranny fluid the best to use? if the syncros are bad, there is no way to fix it without a rebuild?
