So I am curious to find out what fluids u guys are using in your manual trans and rear ends... I need to change out all my fluids this weeks and I want to put good **** in there..


so if u could tell me how many qts or fluid I need and what fluid I should use (plus aditives if any needed) for my 5s[d manual trans and rear diff..

Mercon ATF in the trans.
Rear axle: gear lubricant SAE 80 or 90. If the differential is a Traction-Lok limited-slip unit, be sure to use 4 oz. of Ford Friction Modifier C8AZ-19B546-A or equivalent special limited-slip additive with the lubricant.

also how do I know if it is limited slip? is there a tag, or vin code?

Amsoil in trans, Valvoline gear oil with BG additive in rear.

Im running GM Syncromesh in our tansmission. Its shifts so smooth. Not sure whats in our rearend since I haven't messed with it yet. I just know is somekind of gear oil.

whata botu redline synthetic mtl in the trans.. and redline 80-90 in the diff or castrol syn 80-90 in the rear end.. with the posi additive

no need or point in changing dif fluid, less your changing the gear back there.
