i have an 88 gt 5.0 . i have replaced alot of the sensors and such. i was having a code on my computer that something was wrong with the egr vacuum. i have cleaned all the wiring conections and retest the computer and it says everything checks out. so i take the car for a spin and has no or little horsepower till about 4grand then it launchs (pretty hard too) ( need i ad that while it's trying to gain rpm's i don't back out of the gas) what could be wrong. i'm getting ready to test the fuel pressure and make sure it's not the pump. thanks for any help.

I'm pretty much a moron when it comes to working on cars...but this is a good question ....is it just slow? or is it acting like its bogging down? cutting out?

hmmmmmm i'm stupid...don't listen to me....but have you tried looking to the spark plugs...my old car bogged down when the spark plugs were bad

Check the vacuum line going to your EGR valve. Trace it all the way. Sometimes these lines bend or collapse from the heat. If you haven't toched them they will be covered with black plastic insulation, uncover them and trace them all the way. I had a problem with the same code and that was the problem.
