Default balancer question

can you use a harmonic balancer off a flat tappet motor on a roller motor......balancer is off a 84 motor going on a 91....the reason why i ask i that my motor seems off balance..it has a vibration in it when i accelerate....does it when i free rev it...and also i have the pollyuerathane motor mounts...will that make it do that????

thanks

I think the 5.0 HO takes a special balancer...look in summit or jegs to see the part numbers.

Looks like by the part numbers, all balancers will be the same 82 and up on the 5.0.

I just replaced my harmonic balancer last week 160$ for parts and labor... my engine was shaking slightly then started a clicking sound and engine shook a little more until it finally went out, it felt like you we're in a drag car it was shaking so violently. thank god that was it..

well...replaced balancer...still a vibration. vibrates the worse between 1000-1200 rpms. even when engine is comming down in rpms. hits that point and vibrates.
