Default serp belt replacement

ok I was going to remove my ac comprressor (it dont work) andthe air pump allready has no pulley on it.. so if I get a belt for just the alternator, crank, water pump/fan, and power steering do I need the adjuster anymore or do I just loosen the alternator to tighten and loosen the belt?

my buddy doenst have a smog pump or ac. Im almost certain he still uses the tensioner. Also it is such a tight squeeze between the.......i think the crank and water pump?? Anyways i jus remember seeing the belt being verrry close to another end of the belt. He has never had problems tho.

You dont have to use the tensioner, what you have to do is either buy, or fabricate a bracket about 2 to 3 inches long with a few holes for adjustment purposes. Bolt one end of the bracket the the original bracket, pull the alternator tight and bolt it to the fabricated bracket. That will keep your belt tight enough... Synyster
